The Vernacular Language in the 11th Century – Azerbaijani Language
Abstract
Purpose of the study is to determine the circle of authors, historians and poets who wrote about the Azerbaijani language in the 11th century. This article examines the valuable thoughts of such philosophers and poets as Yagut Hamawi, S. Kesrewi, Gatran Tabrizi, Hasanoglu, etc., emphasizing the increasing role of the Azerbaijani language, both among the people and in the form of Arabic writing. In the scientific article, the author refers to the immortal epic of the Turkic peoples, Kitabi-Dada Gorgud, dating back to the 11th century and presents for the review to the reader the fact of existence of the Azerbaijani language not only as a universal platform for communication, but also as an art form.The article provides poetic examples from the poetry of Azerbaijani poets and thinkers of that historical era, who thought and created their works in the Arabic alphabet in the Azerbaijani dialect of the Turkic language.
