The Use of Digital Technologies and Modern Teaching Approaches in

Foreign Language Teaching

Abstract

This article explores the importance of digital technologies and modern teaching approaches in foreign language teaching. Digital technologies, such as mobile applications, online platforms, and gamification, provide language learners with interactive and enjoyable experiences. Modern teaching approaches, including the Flipped Classroom, Blended Learning, and Gamification, address the individual learning needs of students. The article also discusses the advantages of digital technologies in education and the challenges faced in their implementation. It predicts that these technologies will continue to develop and expand in the future.

The integration of modern teaching approaches with digital technologies brings about innovative changes in language teaching. These approaches ensure active student participation and offer more opportunities to enhance their language skills.

The Flipped Classroom method is based on students independently learning materials at home beforehand, with class time focused on discussing and applying those materials. This approach helps students to learn more deeply and develop independent thinking skills.

The Blended Learning approach, on the other hand, combines traditional classroom settings with digital platforms. This model allows students to benefit from online resources while also having direct interaction with teachers in physical classrooms. It offers teachers the opportunity to use various teaching methods to address the individual needs of students. Blended learning also makes the learning process more flexible and dynamic.

Gamification makes the language learning process fun and motivating for students. Gamification is particularly appealing to young learners because they view games not only as entertainment but also as an integral part of the learning process. İn the future, with the development of digital technologies, language teaching will become even more global.
