Neuroscience and English Language Skills: Cognitive Mechanisms

and Innovative Learning Methods

Abstract

The article is devoted to the identification of optimal methods for the development of English language skills and the investigation of practical application possibilities, taking into account the modern achievements of neurology and cognitive sciences. Modern neuroscientific research shows that various regions of the brain are involved in the language learning process and that neuroplasticity plays an important role in the acquisition of new languages. Brain-based learning methods, multisensory approaches, principles of neuroplasticity and innovative technologies (artificial intelligence, virtual reality) allow for more effective learning of English. Various international and local studies confirm that learning a foreign language creates changes in the neural networks of the brain, and that language skills develop through memory and association mechanisms. The article explains in detail the functions of Broca's and Wernicke's areas, hippocampus and prefrontal cortex in language perception and production. The effectiveness of brain-based learning approaches (game-based learning, NLP, repetition techniques) is also emphasized. In conclusion, it is recommended to combine practical and neuroscientific methods for the development of English speaking skills. It is considered important that future research focuses on evaluating the widespread application and effectiveness of these methods.
