Modern Azerbaijan-Georgian Literary Relations:
Isa Habibbayli and Elizbar Javelidze
Abstract
The article examines the contemporary period of Azerbaijani-Georgian literary relations. Azerbaijani and Georgian literary relations have always developed in parallel, not only in artistic thought, but also in the field of science. The scientific tandem of Dilara Aliyeva and Leyla Eradze, which experienced its best period in the scientific field in the 80s of the last century, continued during the period of independence. However, these relations were possible not by inertia, but by the creativity of individual personalities. If we can say so, just as personalities form the literary environment, personalities also form and include literary relations. In this sense, at a new stage, the Azerbaijani and Georgian literary environment was formed in the context of academicians Isa Habibbayli and Elizbar Javelidze. It was in the context of this acquaintance and literary relations that several monographs of E.Javelidze were published in Azerbaijan. A large part of Isa Habibbayli's scientific activity is devoted to the work of Jalil Mammadguluzadeh, whose work was formed and developed in the literary environment of Tbilisi. As in his scientific research, the factor of fraternal Georgia played a key role in his activity. In I. Habibbayli's research on the work of J. Mammadguluzadeh, the theme of Georgia runs as a central line. This is significant not only in the biographical materials, facts and documents obtained from the archives of Tbilisi, but also in terms of the writer's thinking and acting in the context of this environment.
