Global Development Trends of the English
Language and Their Impact on Education
Abstract
This article examines the global development trends of the English language and its multifaceted impact on modern educational systems. The analysis demonstrates that the global dominance of English is the result of the combined influence of globalization, technological innovation, international scientific communication, and economic integration. The predominance of English-language content on the Internet, along with its widespread use in academic journals and international conferences, positions English as a key medium for global knowledge exchange.
The article also highlights the emergence of regional English varieties, the increasing dynamism of the language through technological integration, and its role as a foundation for intercultural communication. In the field of education, the study reviews the expansion of the EMI model, new methodological and technological requirements for teacher training, the growth of digital learning resources, and the influence of English on the acquisition of other academic subjects. In conclusion, English is identified as a strategically important component of global communication, science, and the educational ecosystem of the 21st century.
