Formation of Social Identity of Youth in Modern Society
Abstract
Intercultural dialogue is a process of building mutual understanding, respect and cooperation between individuals of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. This dialogue is possible not only through tolerance of different cultures towards each other, but also through mutual recognition of identities. Young people are considered the main carriers of this dialogue. They are increasingly familiar with culture through technology, and they also come into contact with different cultural groups in educational and social environments. The process of globalization, urbanization and technological modernization cannot remain without affecting the relations between people and national identity. The decline in interest in national values among the younger generation, the relegation of local culture to the background and the spread of a cosmopolitan worldview pose a threat to national identity. In such circumstances, it is important to keep the cultural heritage of the people alive, pass it on to young people and dynamically protect national identity.
In the process of intercultural dialogue, young people move away from stereotypes and develop social skills such as empathy and mutual understanding. This contributes to their individual and social development.
