Evaluations in the Collection of Retrospective Reviews of the Azerbaijan Oil Industry in the 20s-30s of the 20th Century
Abstract
The first information about oil export from Azerbaijan dates back to the 10th century. At that time, wells with a depth of 10-12 meters were dug in the Absheron Peninsula. Masudi, who came to Baku in 915, wrote that merchants come to Baku to take oil from white oil fields. There is no such place in the world where white oil is produced. The initial stage of exploitation of oil fields in Absheron mines by industrial method covers the period from the 18th century to 1917. The next stage is characterized as the Soviet period. After the establishment of Soviet power in Azerbaijan, the Soviet period of the oil industry began on May 7, 1920, and covered the years until the restoration of independence. Finally, the third stage of the oil industry covers the years of independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the modern era. The article examines the institutional situation in the oil industry in the second stage of the Azerbaijani oil industry, more precisely in the 20s and 30s of the 20th century, and the evaluations related to the economic issues of the oil industry.
