Cryptocurrency and Blockchain as the Main Attributes of the Economy
Abstract
The article discusses the basic principles of blockchain and cryptocurrency technology. The main features of blockchain, including decentralization, security, and transparency, and the role of cryptocurrencies in the modern economy are analyzed. The problems of scalability, energy consumption, and legal regulation arising at the present stage of technology development are considered. Blockchain is a distributed database in which data is stored not on one server, but on many network nodes at the same time. Particular attention is paid to the possibility of applying blockchain in various fields, such as finance, healthcare, and logistics. The relevance of this topic is due to the rapid development of the digital economy, within the framework of which blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies are becoming one of the main means of transformation of financial systems. In recent years, the global virtual assets market has shown high growth rates, and the number of cryptocurrency users has grown by tens of percent every year. This leads to significant changes in the structures of global financial flows, the investment model, and mechanisms of storage and transfer of value. As a result of the study, conclusions were drawn about the importance and development prospects of blockchain technology for the digital economy. It consists in comprehensively developing the theoretical foundations of the functioning of digital currencies and providing practical recommendations on their further circulation in the economy. When preparing the study, various sources of literature, graphs, and diagrams were used. The scientific novelty of the work consists in determining the scale of cryptocurrency turnover, identifying the most favorable scenario for controlling the circulation of digital currencies, as well as developing recommendations for regulating the circulation of digital currencies in Azerbaijan. The applied significance of the study is that it consists in the possibility of improving regulatory measures and applying their main provisions and conclusions in order to create more reliable and open conditions for operating with digital currencies. At the end of the research work, conclusions and proposals were presented, and ways to improve them were given.
