Abstract

This study, conducted on the topic of “Analysis of the potential impact of free economic zones on the socio-economic development of regions,” examines the role of free economic zones (FEZ) as the main tool aimed at a balanced distribution of economic activity within the country and reducing interregional inequality. The purpose of the study is to identify the opportunities and risks created by FEZs in the development of regions and to assess their impact on social welfare and economic indicators.

Along with international experience, the study analyzes the activity models of free economic zones (for example, Alat Free Economic Zone) created and planned in Azerbaijan.
