Abstract. The rapid development of digital technologies in the modern era has necessitated the application of new methods and tools in the educational process. The use of chatbots and virtual assistants in foreign language teaching is especially important in terms of developing learners' language skills. These technologies provide an individual approach to students, help them develop their speaking, writing, listening and vocabulary. Through chatbots, learners can communicate in a foreign language at any time, get answers to their questions, analyze their mistakes and get the opportunity to practice independently. The main purpose of the study is to investigate the application possibilities, advantages and impact of chatbots and virtual assistants in foreign language teaching on the educational process. For this purpose, the role of digital technologies in foreign language teaching, the functions of chatbots and virtual assistants, their impact on learners' motivation, communication skills and individual learning process were analyzed. During the study, analysis, comparison, generalization and systematic approach methods were used.

The scientific novelty of the study is that chatbots and virtual assistants are evaluated not only as technological tools in foreign language teaching, but also as pedagogical tools that increase the activity of learners, develop communicative skills and support an individual learning environment. The practical significance of the study is that the results obtained can be used by foreign language teachers, students and educational institutions to organize the teaching process more effectively.
