The Role and Challenges of Articles in Language Learning
Abstract
This article explores the role of articles in the language learning process and the difficulties when the learners often face. Articles play a crucial role in constructing clear and meaningful speech in article-based languages such as English. For language learners, the use of articles can cause confusion, especially if their native language lacks a similar grammatical category. This often leads to challenges in correctly applying articles like “a,” “an,” and “the.” The article also discusses the functional significance of articles and presents teaching methods and strategies that can help overcome these difficulties.
