The life of Germans Living in Azerbaijan
Abstract
The article is about the Germans who came to the territory of Azerbaijan 200 years ago. Interesting facts about their lifestyle during their settlement here, their relations with the local population, and the purpose for which the Russian Empire allowed them to be resettled here are worthy of attention. The Germans who came to Azerbaijan were Swabians from the territory of Württemberg. Their unique culture, knowledge of increasing agricultural productivity, and the technical innovations they applied were highly appreciated by the Russian Empire. They were given privileges and concessions in many areas. The Germans established 8 colonies during their settlement in Azerbaijan. The colonies had a house construction structure typical of German culture. The construction projects implemented by the Germans in Baku can still be considered pearls of the capital's architecture today.
When compiling the article, references were made to books and articles written on this topic using mostly theoretical methods. The main purpose of writing the article is to describe the cultural heritage left by the Germans who once lived in our country. Thus, cultural relations between countries are less volatile than relations in other areas.
