The Comparison of Didactic Approaches of Modern English Language
Teachers: Traditional and Interactive Methods
Abstract
Traditional and interactive teaching methods are the main approaches used by English language teachers. Traditional methods are teacher-centered, focusing on direct knowledge transfer and repetition, while interactive methods are student-centered, emphasizing communication and collaboration. Interactive methods, based on constructivism and communicative language teaching theories, encourage students to actively engage with the language. Traditional methods ensure structured learning, but interactive approaches support the development of students' communication skills and active participation. A balanced application of both methods creates a more effective learning environment in modern English language teaching.
