The Basics of Comfort and Functionality in
Interior Design in Public Spaces
Abstract
The interior design of public spaces plays a significant role in ensuring both comfort and functionality. In the design process, comfort, aesthetic harmony and the practical use of space are considered primary factors. In Baku city, as well as in other regions, comfortable and functional spaces facilitate users’ daily activities and enhance their psychological and social well-being. In particular, the Heydar Aliyev Complex in Baku attracts attention with its design features. The fundamentals of interior design in public spaces include color selection, lighting, material compatibility, furniture arrangement and optimization of movement trajectories. A balanced application of aesthetic and functional principles ensures that the space is both visually appealing and practical for use.
