Scientific Essence and Development Stages of the Concept of Monitoring in the Educational Process
Abstract
The article analyzes the scientific essence and development stages of the concept of monitoring in the educational process from a theoretical point of view. The multidimensional and dynamic nature of monitoring, the lack of a single definition, and the explanation of its functional, methodological, and prognostic aspects by various scientists are examined. The acquisition of analytical and prognostic functions of monitoring, starting from the initial control and statistical reporting stages, and its transformation into a systematic model serving the adoption of management decisions on a scientific basis, are explained.
The article also emphasizes the contributions of monitoring to improving the quality of education, optimizing processes, and strategic management at the modern stage. In the context of the Azerbaijani education system, the development stages of monitoring are linked to practical application, and it is shown that it plays a role as a main tool in management.
