Reduction of Ecological Damage by Using Waste Heat of Combustion

Products in Thermal Distillation Technology of Seawater

Abstract

The presented article is given a computational model of the process of thermal desalination of Caspian Sea water using secondary energy reserves of power plants. Thermal desalination is based on flash evaporators. The main goal is to reduce the costs of desalination technology and emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere by using waste heat. Here, it is planned to use the waste heat of the modules of the Sangachal diesel power plant. Various types of thermal distillation processes were analyzed. Multi-stage recirculation evaporators were found to be efficient. Computational-analytical studies were conducted for a multi-stage flash evaporator and a computational model was built.

Keywords: Caspian Sea water, secondary energy resources, environmental damage, thermal distillation, multistage flash boiling, sweetening, computational model
