Improvement of Infrastructure for Bicycle Usage in our Republic
Abstract
This article analyzes the issues related to improving infrastructure to expand bicycle usage in Azerbaijan. The lack of dedicated bicycle lanes, the unsuitability of the road network for cyclists, the shortage of parking spaces, and weak integration with public transport are identified as the main problems. The paper assesses the current state of the road network and emphasizes the necessity of creating dedicated bike lanes, increasing safety signage, and improving road surface quality. It is recommended that bicycle lanes be planned in accordance with urban development strategies and integrated with other modes of transportation.
