Impact of Climate Change on Living World

Abstract

This article examines the impact of global climate change on living organisms – flora and fauna. The article briefly explains the causes and consequences of climate change, and also analyzes with specific examples how it affects various living species, their habitats and behavioral mechanisms. It is shown that global temperature increase, extreme weather conditions, sea level rise, melting glaciers disrupt the balance in ecosystems and lead to a decrease in biodiversity. Particularly sensitive ecosystems – polar regions, forests and corals – are the main focus of the article. At the end of the article, ways to combat climate change and the adaptation capabilities of living organisms are also discussed.

Keywords: climate change, ecosystem, biodiversity, flora, fauna, warming, glaciers, drought, living organisms
