Therapies Aimed at Intellectual Development in Children with Autism

Abstract

This article reviews various therapies to support intellectual development in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Since the intellectual abilities of children with autism vary across a wide spectrum, individualized approaches are required to support their development. The article discusses in detail ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), sensory therapies, social skills interventions, alternative communication methods, virtual reality and artificial intelligence-based interventions, inclusive education, and vocationally oriented teaching models.

Each therapy method has a scientific basis that helps improve the learning and communication skills of children with autism. In particular, the importance of early intervention is emphasized and individualized approaches are noted to produce more effective results. It is recommended that future research be directed towards the development of technology-based therapies and the strengthening of individualized approaches.
