Theoretical Foundations of the Impact of International Events on Economic Development
Abstract
Internationally significant events have become one of the important components of the socio- economic development strategies of countries in modern times. In the context of deepening globalization processes, intensification of inter-country economic relations and tightening of the competitive environment, states consider international scale events as a means of stimulating economic growth and accelerating the integration of the national economy into the world economic system. In this regard, international sports competitions, economic forums, cultural festivals, international exhibitions and conferences act not only as social and cultural events, but also as an important factor that has a multifaceted impact on economic processes. In economic theory, the mechanisms of influence of such events are explained from various aspects and their impact on economic development is analyzed in both short-term and long-term perspectives.
