Abstract. Ensuring military security has become one of the primary priorities of national security strategies in the twenty-first century. The rapid advancement of science and technology, together with the evolving nature of modern warfare, has made military superiority increasingly dependent on technological innovation and scientific knowledge rather than solely on the quantity of personnel or weapons. In this context, physics serves as a fundamental scientific discipline underpinning the development of advanced defense technologies. Its major branches, including mechanics, ballistics, electromagnetism, optics, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, nuclear physics, and quantum physics, contribute significantly to the design and operation of modern military systems. These principles are applied in missile guidance, radar and satellite surveillance, secure communication networks, unmanned aerial vehicles, laser technologies, and radiation protection systems. Moreover, physics plays a vital role in strengthening strategic security through the advancement of nuclear and emerging defense technologies. Beyond technological innovation, physics education is essential for developing the analytical thinking, technical competence, and professional skills of future military officers and defense specialists. A solid understanding of physical principles enables the effective operation, maintenance, and improvement of complex military systems. This article examines the role of physics in military security by analyzing its applications in defense technologies, communication and surveillance systems, ballistics, and strategic security. It also discusses the future prospects of physics in the era of artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, and next-generation defense systems, emphasizing its contribution to strengthening national security.
