Abstract
The article discusses the historical development of the Azerbaijani language, its preservation, and the special role played by the great personality, the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, and his worthy successor, President Ilham Aliyev, in the development and formation of the Azerbaijani language. Their contributions are explored, along with the stages of the language’s development and the changes in the alphabet that took place several times over the century.
The article also highlights the role of the great figures of our nation in the development of the Azerbaijani language, the statements of famous writers about the Azerbaijani language, and examples from their works: B. Vahabzade, M. Hadi, Nizami Ganjavi, Imadaddin Nasimi, M. Shahriyar, and others.
Further, it addresses the changes in the Azerbaijani alphabet, the decisions to officially recognize the Azerbaijani language as the state language, the establishment of Azerbaijani Language and Alphabet Day, and the incorporation of these decisions into the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The article also mentions the liberation of the occupied territories after thirty years of enemy occupation and emphasizes the tolerant nature of our people.
