The Historical Development of the Legislative Framework Regulating the
Competency Approach in the Educational System in Algeria
Abstract
This study aimed to analyze the historical development of the legislative framework regulating the approach to competencies in the educational system in Algeria, by monitoring the most important stages and procedures that were known in the process of adopting them within the Algerian educational system. As well as analyzing and interpreting the legal texts regulating it.
The study found that legal and regulatory texts tend to implicitly regulate the issue of approaching competencies rather than explicit and direct regulation. In addition, the legal regulation had an effective role in the process of gradual integration and adaptation of this approach within the Algerian educational system, especially in terms of clarifying the content and objectives of this approach to educational actors.
Keywords: legislative framework, competency approach, the Algerian educational system, legal regulation.
