The Concept of “Goodness” in Azerbaijani Paremiological Units
Abstract
The concept of “goodness” in the moral and cultural heritage of the Azerbaijani people has deep historical and philosophical roots and holds a significant place both in religious beliefs and everyday folk mentality. This notion is reflected through paremiological units such as proverbs and sayings, which embody the nation’s fundamental life principles and value system. These expressions clearly demonstrate how the concept of “goodness” is perceived and articulated through various semantic nuances in the collective mindset. In the modern era, the study of this concept is highly relevant for the preservation of national identity. The aim of this article is to explore the semantic and linguocultural characteristics of the concept of “goodness” as expressed through paremiological units in the Azerbaijani language.
