Abstract. In modern football, optimizing the training process based on scientific and methodical principles and managing the functional readiness of highly qualified football players is one of the most pressing problems in contemporary sports science. Since the dynamics of football demand high biomechanical, physiological, and psychological potential from each player, the implementation of integrated training programs that consider the individual homeostatic indicators and adaptation capabilities of the athlete in the training process is an inevitable necessity. In order to ensure the multi-faceted preparation model of a modern football player, the unified realization of physical, technical, tactical, and psychological components is a fundamental factor conditioning the effectiveness of match performance. This article examines the selection of an adequate training methodology to achieve strategic training goals, as well as the execution of tasks set during the implementation of specific tactical assignments, and provides a scientific-theoretical substantiation for the functional advantages of the respective methods. Attaining and stabilizing peak athletic form, as well as achieving the phase of supercompensation (post-recovery surge) in the organism, directly depends on the kinetics of heterochronic recovery processes occurring after submaximal and maximal workloads, as well as on the overall working capacity of the organism. The planning of training workloads must be determined not only by the volume of locomotive activity but also by the methodologically correct coordination of work and rest intervals, as well as the diagnostics of the athlete's initial functional state.
