Studying Linguistics from a Sociolinguistic Aspect
Abstract
The main problem of sociolinguistics is “man and society”. However, the diversity of language structure is always in its focus. Thanks to sociolinguistics, we study the relationship between language and society more broadly. People communicate in different areas of society, with different people, in different languages. For example, of course, we do not talk to our friends the way we talk to a manager at work, or we do not communicate comfortably with a stranger as if we were our family member. In the sociolinguistic approach, if we even pay attention to the way women talk to women, men to men, or people of the opposite sex talk to each other, we can discover completely different points
The sociality of language indicates its connection with sociology, which is a scientific field that studies society. Let's imagine a multinational society. Here, not only the dependence of language on society, but also the mutual influence and relationship of languages, which one is more basic and the others are dependent, are also a problem. This is one of the problems of the issue of language and society. The multifaceted nature of language has long been known to everyone.
