Reflection of Family, Women, And Youth Problems in the Contemporary
Social Context in the Story
Abstract
Contemporary Azerbaijani short stories often explore themes of family, women, and youth, reflecting the social and spiritual dynamics of society. In these narratives, the institution of the family is portrayed as weakened: cases of divorce, rifts in parent-child relationships, and domestic violence are presented with a realistic approach. Female characters are depicted as individuals caught between traditional roles and the demands of modern times for freedom and struggle. Youth, in turn, is portrayed as a generation fighting against social injustice, unemployment, and educational challenges, while also striving for self-realization. In modern prose, these themes are addressed not only as representations of social reality but also through psychological, cultural, and aesthetic lenses. The use of symbols, concepts of space and time, contributes to the depth of these topics and creates multi-layered meaning structures that provoke reflection in the reader. The depiction of family, women, and youth issues in literary texts aligns with the evolving structure of society and its system of values, giving the content a more complex and polyphonic nature.
