Organization of Protection of Territory and Population from Wastewater Contaminated with Pil Products at the Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery
Abstract
Management of wastewater contaminated with oil products in the Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery plays an important role in ensuring environmental safety. This type of wastewater poses a serious risk to soil, groundwater and the Caspian Sea. Therefore, protective measures are organized on the basis of a comprehensive approach. First of all, wastewater is treated using mechanical, chemical and biological methods. The level of oil and other harmful substances is minimized through modern treatment facilities. At the same time, monitoring systems are established and water quality is constantly monitored. Sanitary zones are created to protect the territory and the population, and an operational plan for emergency situations is being developed. Environmental education of staff and compliance with safety regulations are also important factors. As a result of these measures, both environmental protection and public health safety are ensured.
