Modern Problems of the Hospitality Industry

Nijat Aliyev

Abstract. Within the framework of this topic, the main challenges faced by the hospitality industry in the modern era are comprehensively analyzed, and their impact on the sector is explained through a multifaceted approach. The acceleration of globalization increases international competition while requiring businesses to adopt more flexible and innovative management practices. The implementation of technological innovations, especially digitalization and automation, creates opportunities to improve service quality, but also brings adaptation challenges. Changing consumer behavior, the growing demand for personalized services, and the widespread use of online platforms force businesses to develop new strategies. At the same time, labor shortages, the lack of qualified personnel, and high employee turnover negatively affect the sustainable operation of the sector. In the post-pandemic recovery phase, financial losses, the need to enhance safety standards, and market instability emerge as major difficulties. Additionally, the implementation of environmental sustainability and social responsibility principles creates new obligations for enterprises. The research concludes that for the successful development of the hospitality industry, key priorities should include strategic planning, accelerating digital transformation, developing human resources, and adopting customer-oriented and innovative approaches.
