Modern Models in Inclusive Education

Abstract

Great Leader Heydar Aliyev said: “Education is the future of the nation”.

When saying these words, which have already become a proverb, Great Leader Heydar Aliyev also meant inclusive education and time has shown that the successful education policy of the Great Leader has now played a basic role in the development of inclusive education. There have been various approaches to the education of people with disabilities around the world, from the era when children with disabilities were excluded from education to the era of "inclusion".

One of the main goals of modern education systems is to ensure the widespread application of inclusive education. Inclusive education implies that children with special needs receive education with equal rights along with other students, and this serves to establish social justice.Although there are some difficulties in this direction, the application of inclusive education is of great importance in terms of the formation of a sustainable and equal society. To achieve this goal, inclusive policy at the state level should be strengthened, legislation should be improved, and the physical and pedagogical environment of educational institutions should be accessible. At the same time, families and society should be actively  involved  in this process, and  awareness-raising measures about inclusion should be expanded. Teachers' knowledge and skills in this area should be increased and they should be provided with modern teaching methods. Because experience shows that inclusive education plays an indispensable role not only for individual development, but also for the well-being and integration of society as a whole.
