Intralingual Lacunae in the Lexical System of a Language (Intralingual)
Abstract
In the article “Intralingual (interlingual) lacunas in the lexical system of the language” examines intralingual lacunarity as a linguistic phenomenon and analyzes various types of intralingual lacunae in the lexical system of the Azerbaijan language. Special attention is given to potential gaps as the most numerous group. It is noted that any linguistic ununlearned for a long time, due to cultural relation, oral speech, unstable dialectal features, the development of scienceand the need for rapid translation of words and naming of newly emerging processes. The following types of intralingual lacunae are distinguished: 1) systemic (potential); 2) usual (usual, normative); 3) segmental; 4) transfomatinal; 5) hypernymic or hyponymic; 6) absolute and other types can be completely eliminated over time. Thus, the study of the phenomenon of “insignificance of lexemes” allows us to understand many lacunary processes occurring in language as a system.
