Exploring big data practices in the retail sector
Abstract
This paper explores the role and practical applications of Big Data technologies in the modern retail sector. It examines the fundamental characteristics of Big Data and its usage in various areas such as customer behavior analysis, demand forecasting, dynamic pricing, personalized marketing, and fraud detection. The study highlights real-world examples from industry leaders like Amazon, Walmart, and Zara to demonstrate the successful implementation of Big Data strategies. Furthermore, it discusses the challenges and limitations associated with Big Data adoption, including data quality, privacy concerns, and infrastructure requirements. The paper concludes that Big Data is a vital tool for gaining competitive advantage and enabling agile decision-making in the retail industry.
