Effective Ways of Teaching Grammar Materials at the Basic Level of Foreign Language Education

Abstract

Foreign language learners have different types of knowledge and skills to master grammar. Different types of methods and techniques are used for effective teaching of grammar in teaching activities. We have already mentioned in our first chapter, with their names, that a number of methods and approaches have been put forward in language acquisition, each of which has been used in teaching foreign language lessons in its own way. In general, effective ways of teaching grammar materials are a very problematic issue. Because each teacher and trainer may have different methods during teaching, and the teaching method is not identical to each other. The difference in training conditions and participants, of course, leads to certain changes in the teaching of grammar and during the training activity. The training process is an art, and the trainer is an artist. Each schoolchild has a different approach and way of looking at teaching grammar materials. While some learners find grammar attractive, others find it boring and difficult.

Such different attitudes towards grammar are sometimes attributed to psychological factors of learners, i.e. it is believed that their brain power is not able to fully grasp grammar. The fact that grammar teaching methods were inconsistent and difficult in previous years is also one of the reasons for the difficulties that learners face in mastering grammar. Examples of ineffective methods include long lectures, tasks on one grammatical rule that are not sufficiently clear, unambiguous and not perceived equally by each learner.
