Basics of the Teaching Process in Inclusive Education
Abstract
Students with disabilities should grow up as individuals who benefit the social environment and have the right to general education that will contribute to the development of society. All students understand the essence of diversity more deeply in inclusive education. This article describes the mechanism of teaching in inclusive education as a model, and discusses the strategies and plans used to create an inclusive educational environment for students with disabilities and the process of organizing teaching. Specific information has been provided that systematically encourages, frames and supports the integration of students with disabilities into the general education curriculum system and enables them to become members of society. Methods and approaches such as "Collaborative Learning" and "Universal Design for Learning" (UDL) used in inclusive classrooms, as well as their components are described. The process of preparing and implementing an Individualized Education Plan to support for identifying the priority needs of students with disabilities, involve them in mainstream classes and acquiring academic knowledge is explained in a step-by-step pedagogical structure. An example of an Individualized Education Plan and the modification of the learning environment are shown.
