A Reading of the Book of Fulan Tribe in the Past and Present and its
Sciences, Knowledge and Exploits by Sheikh Mohammed Bay Belalem
Abstract
This paper deals with an issue that has long confused the people of Africa themselves and then the northern world as well, as Africa is an underdeveloped South world that does not rise to the standard of the North and it’s a misconception since the Africa’s identity is deeply rooted into history for over thousands of years. On that basis, the ideas of the northern world are illogical and somewhat impractical. This is in fact illustrated by the precious works of African scholars (manuscripts and rare documents).
These precious manuscripts truly reflect Africa's cultural identity and its forward-looking future. We note that through the manuscript Fulan’ Tribe in the Past and the Present and its science, Knowledge and Attributes. This intervention attempts to introduce one of the works of African scholars that is part of his cultural identity.
The study ultimately asks: questions whether the historical intellectual output of African scholars plays a role in highlighting Africa's identity. Have African researchers exploited their manuscript intellectual heritage? What is the significance of Sheikh Belalem's book?.
