Methods of Developing Speech Skills in English Lessons

 

Abstract

In the educational process, the concept of “foreign language culture” is an obligatory component of the content of education, therefore, when teaching English to students of non-linguistic universities, the main component of the educational process is considered to be communicative competence, when knowledge of the culture of the country of the studied language, its structure, system, features is necessary not only as a means of interpersonal communication, but also to enrich the spiritual world of the student's personality as a whole. The article expresses and substantiates the opinion on the need to develop speaking skills through grammar exercises, emphasizes their role in teaching speaking.

Knowledge of a foreign language is determined not only by knowing a certain number of vocabulary units, but also by the ability to work with the structures of this language for free communication. It is clear that even with a very large vocabulary, it is impossible to speak without mastering the mechanism of organizing these words in a sentence. The state standard of the level of preparation in foreign languages notes that the formation of communicative competence is inextricably linked with socio-cultural and regional knowledge. It is impossible to develop communicative competence without knowledge of the socio-cultural background.
